According to ESPN NFL, Head coach Coughlin and general manager Jerry Reese love creating competition and it’s going to be stimulating to see if David Diehl can hold onto his left tackle spot. The good news for Diehl is that he’s going to end up starting on the offensive line no matter what happens in that competition. Coughlin’s going to do whatever’s best for the team, and I think that will ultimately be Beatty at left tackle and Diehl at left guard. Beatty, a second-year player, has shown a lot of quickness in the first three practices of training camp.

It won’t be a completely smooth transition, but I believe he has the athletic ability and size to succeed at left tackle. The Giants have had a lot of continuity along the offensive line, but that won’t keep Coughlin from pulling the trigger on a move. In talking to Reese, I get the feeling he’s enjoying this competition quite a bit.

Quarterback for the New York Giants Eli Manning, said he will play Saturday against the Baltimore Ravens.
Manning sat out Saturday’s preseason loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, due to the removing s of the 12 stitches removed from his forehead on Friday.

“It feels fine, the stitches are out, I’m not wearing a helmet today for practice, will be in a hat, but it feels fine and is not hurting. It’s exposed, as long as I don’t get hit in the head, it will be all right.” Said manning.

Manning endured a three-inch incision when he had his chin strap knocked loose after a collision with running back Brandon Jacobs on a busted play against the Jets Aug. 16. Manning’s helmet then came off when he was hit from behind by Jets linebacker Calvin Pace, and the quarterback’s forehead struck Jets safety Jim Leonhard’s face-mask.

“Whatever Coach Coughlin wants to do and what he thinks, I know I’m playing,” Manning said. “How long I play, I will leave that up to the head coach.”

New Orleans Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey was rushed to a local New Orleans hospital earlier today after an incident at the team's practice facility. According to local news, Shockey was suffering from a a mild seizure while inside the team weight room. An NFL source told WGNO that Shockey was able to walk to the ambulance that was waiting outside without any assistance. This isn't Shockey's first injury. In fact, he was hospitalized right around this time last year after he was found unconscious at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas from dehydratation. One would rarely find  a 28-year-old rookie in the NFL – let alone one raised in Ghana who learned to play the game just three years earlier, after walking into the head coach’s office at East Carolina and saying he wanted to join the team, then never once making a tackle. Defensive tackle, Kwaku Danso is that player and loves the game and is determined to win.  “I can’t believe this,” he says, laughing into the afternoon sun. “Look at me.” The Browns have indeed signed an undrafted free agent whose entire college career consists of three brief appearances at the end of ECU blowouts. And they did so because a few weeks earlier, defensive coordinator Rob Ryan – observing on East Carolina’s pro day – noticed Danso step through a door at 6-foot-5, 336 pounds and gasped “Who the hell is that?” to the Cleveland scouts standing beside him.

Danso is originally from Kumasi, Ghana.
